PCB offers Wasim Akram a bowling coach contract - Cricket News Roundup ? Part 1 ? August 10, 2012

According to sources in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), former skipper Wasim Akram, has been offered a short-term bowling coach contract to groom fast bowlers in the National Cricket Academy.

Akram expressing his desire to coach youngsters said, ?I am willing to coach because I would like to work with youngsters and train them. I have always said that I am available to work with young bowlers in Pakistan, but due to my busy schedule I can't do this full time. But whenever I am in Pakistan, I am available to coach and groom the youngsters."

Meanwhile, a PCB source talking on the matter stated, ?PCB is always very keen to utilise his services and this is a positive gesture by him. The Board has established a contact with him but nothing has been worked out."

At the moment, Wasim busy with his international obligations, is in Australia as a commentator, covering the ICC Under-19 World Cup. And then later in October, he will be rejoining the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the Champions League in South Africa as their bowling consultant.

Former England all-rounder,?Andrew Flintoff, wants the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Kevin Pietersen to sort out their differences and move on.

Coming out in support for his former teammate, Flintoff reckoned the importance of the all-rounder for England, and insisted that the country would always benefit from KP being in the three formats.

He urged the players of the national team to unite in these testing times when their number-one status in Test cricket is under threat.
